    Ges en ensidig bild av skeendet I Italien dvs den amerikanska. Författaren har i många fall en okritisk hållning till de amerikanska generalernas beslut medan den brittiska sidan får agera syndabock. De tyska och Italienska soldaterna omtalas enbart i form av förlustsiffror. Jag hade även svårt för den svulstiga berättarstilen. Vill man läsa något populärvetenskapligt om WW2 skulle jag hellre rekommendera något av Anthony Beevor.
